Apple's new operating system iOS 10 is out and it has come with a host of new features that is giving the old iPhones a completely new look. To download this update, you just need to go to 'Settings' and then click on 'General'. You will find the icon for 'Update' and with a tap you can set the ball rolling.
One of the prominent changes that you'll see with the iOS10 update is the new look of the 'Messages' app. The application finally comes of age and now has an assorment of sticker packs and is integrated with the 'Message' apps.
The 'Messages' does more than just offer cute stickers. You can actually book dinner reservations, make payments and check weather among other things, right from within a conversation. Pretty cool right?
This is a new feature that has come in with the iOS 10 update. You can now sync an Apple Watch with your iPhone and draw iMessages and send them out as animations to your Apple Watch. Another much awaited requirement for all Apple users.
This is one of the most useful change with this update. If you are woken by a rude shock with the previous bright white theme, then this black one will not fail to impress you.
The 'Bedtime' tab needs a special mention here. It now lets you pick a time according to the amount of sleep you need. Once set, the app can even remind you to get ready for bed around 10-15 minutes in advance.
You will now somewhat find a similarity between Google Photos and Apple photos as the update now let's you make trailers from your 'memories'. You can select a group of photos and let the app do its own thing. The app will convert your pics into a slideshow, add some audio and create your own video in no time.
With iOS 10 you get 3D touch all over. The ability to read and answer emails and messages with 3D Touch is super convenient and improves the overall experience to a large extent.
The other cool thing you can do with 3D Touch is just press down on a folder and read the notifications, without really opening the folder.
There are other small cosmetic changes that add to the overall experience, but don't do much individually. You'll notice that the News and Music apps has got a significant redesign, with the fonts bolder and the Music placed right in the front, more in your face, actually.
The Notification Centre now has widget support and you can also add more widgets and customize according to your preferences.
Before you get all excited and press the update button, remember to back up all data to iCloud or your PC. Just in case, something goes wrong, your data will be safe with no regrets.
