Junk food. The one favourite food of our generation and those of children, with parents and teachers constantly warning against them. So why do we love something that is literally means garbage food? Well, simply put, it's the taste. Different from the tarkas, masalas and oil loaded options we are served everyday, we love the different tastes, flavours, sauces, herbs and so on. So we decided to see if it is possible to marry healthy food with a twist of 'junkiness'.
- Junk rule over veggies
Of course, food like boiled sprouts and cooked pulses don't look appealing enough for grabs. But if the very same thing can be combined in a chat or even a subway, will you still refuse it?
2. There is nothing like too much cheese
“It was a long day, let’s go and have some double cheese mix sauce Italian Pasta”. It’s quite simple to go for a restaurant pasta over homemade food, but remember, that double cheese is going to double your fat. Who cares? *Gulp*. At the end of the day, when you are tired, you just want to stuff your mouth, junk food is always tasty and needs zero effort. But if it's cheese you're going after, try pushing loads of cheese in a chicken sandwich. Equally delicious.
- Quick to eat but not too bad for health options do exist
Rough day and you’ve got to cook now. Who will spend hours in the kitchen to make some food bites, when one can easily reach out for some quick and yummy junk food? Yes, this situation is going to hit us, at least once a week. Best solution, always have something stored away. Even simple cup noodles are better than burger and fries or pizza.
Celebrations don't have to mean junk food
Well, this is a western concept we have picked up. Talk about our celebrations right from festivals to guests coming over, we want to order pizza or other stuff. So instead of ordering the pizza why not do something like kulche chane. Or make the pizza at home, because it makes a huge difference.
Sweets are not junk, snd some can even be considered almost good for health
Call those sweets as a junk food in front of a sweet lover and see yourself being given a look of destruction. Sweets are the most common and lovable “Junk food” for us (Okay, sorry!), we can stop eating anything but can’t resist sweets. Call them a junk food, we don’t care.
- The real problem though? We love junk food
We just love to eat Junk, we can’t oppose those sugary cakes or that cheese burger as it plays as a treat to our taste buds. Simple as math, we can’t stop eating junk food as we love it. But… love hurts, sometimes.
