Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, between the Gujarat Lions and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The evening match was between Kolkata Night Riders and Mumbai Indians; a home match for the Mumbai team at the Wankhede Stadium. Here are the highlights of Day 5 of IPL 2017:

Sushant Singh Rajput put up a show

He made his entry atop a contraption fashioned to look like a Mumbai double-decker bus to the strains of the Mumbai Indians song. He then went on to perform to songs such as Sree Ganesha Deva,

Malika Arora then made her entrance

Seated on a golden palanquin, the chhaiya chhaiya girl made her entry to the strains of dholi taro dhol baaje .

The two lit up Mumbai Indians’ first home game

Shushant Singh Rajput made a return and climbed on top of a human pyramid, as is done in the traditional dahi-handi event. He then shared the stage with Maliaka Arora Khan to perform to some well known ditties, including the hugely popular Marathi song Zing Zing Zingat.

The first game was between Hyderabad and Gujarat

Defending champions, Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and asked the Gujarat Lions to field. The Gujarat team was restricted to just 135 in their 20 wickets while losing 7 wickets.

Rashid Khan was man of the match

Rashid Khan is the 18 year old wrist spinner from Afghanistan, who is making waves; experts have said he is virtually unplayable! He got three wickets and the purple cap as well for being instrumental in keeping the score low (giving away only 19 runs) and helping his team win. His team SRH romped home with 9 wickets and 27 balls to spare.

Second match was between Mumbai and Kolkata

Host Mumbai, won the toss and chose to field. Put in to bat, KKR made 178/7 in their 20 overs. Manish Pandey was the highest scorer at 81 not out and Krunal Pandya was the most successful bowler with three wickets.

MI won their home game

Nitish Rana was man of the match for his 50 runs. The second match was much more keenly contested than the first one of the day and went down to the wire. The winning runs were scored only in the second last ball of the innings.
