There are several facial exercises that act on the muscles of our face as well as the layers of our skin, thereby increasing our blood circulation. They help in reducing lines and wrinkles and help our skin look younger. So if you’ve been wanting to combat the signs of ageing, here we list a few exercises that you can do five days a week, in just about half an hour.

Scrunch your forehead gently by raising both your eyebrows as if you are surprised. This strengthens the forehead muscles, all the while preventing wrinkles in the long run. Do this one four to five times a day.

Yes, even blowing balloons can become an effective facial exercise. To do this exercise, blow your cheeks as if you are inflating a balloon and then hold your lips together as if you are whistling. This exercise helps reduce laugh lines and makes your lip muscles firmer. This exercise should be done for a few seconds, at least four to five times a day.

 

3. Jaw drop

Sit up, drop your lower jaw, and push it outwards, as far as it can go, until you feel a tension build up in your cheeks, near your ears. Hold this position for 10 seconds, and then draw your jaw inwards. Repeat this 10 times. This can help you define your jawline and even help you get rid of your double-chin.

Contracting and relaxing your neck by pulling it upwards and sideways helps tone both, your neck, as well as your chin. Do this only for a few seconds, for about three to four times a day.

 

5. The fishy pout.

The fishy pout can be helpful for getting your cheeks and chin in shape. So start pouting like the mouth of a gold fish, at lest four-five times a day. Don’t worry, your selfie pouts are good enough.

 

6. The shock stare

Stare at a distant object with your eyes wide open, as if you are shocked at what you are watching. This helps reduce eye bags and puffiness around the eyes. It also reduces non-genetic dark circles. Do this for five seconds, three to four times a day.

The gesture of a flying kiss with a poker straight face is another great facial exercise you could try on. This is a highly effective facial exercise as it strengthens the muscles around you mouth and prevents your skin from sagging. Do it four to five times day, without any break.

 

8. Rotation

Rotate your head first clockwise, and later anti-clockwise. Rotate it first 4-5 times in the clockwise direction, and then 4-5 times once again in the anti-clockwise direction.

 

9. The mouth wash exercise.

Inhale air deeply with your mouth. After that, transfer this air from one side of the cheek to another as if you were swishing mouthwash inside your mouth. This will tone your facial muscles and even reduce chubbiness from your face.

 

10. The smile

Tighten your cheek muscles by smiling as widely as you possibly can. Then hold on to this position for a few seconds and relax. Do this exercise nearly 15-20 times a day to see results.
