College is a bittersweet experience for everyone. Much like an ice cream stand, college offers you a variety of people you can choose to befriend. At the end of the day, the difference in people is what gives you the college experience, and its true flavour. Here are a few kinds that you will meet:
1. The Vanilla
Sometimes, you’ll need to give them a push.
As pure as they get, the big bad world after school is a shock to them. Wary of everything, they have an innocence to them that you can’t find anywhere else. After all, vanilla is a universal favourite for a reason.
2. Chocolate
Just try and keep up.
Always ready for mischief and willing to party no matter what, they are a treat to have around but can be tricky individuals to deal with. Versatile to unimaginable extents, it’s like they excel at whatever they do.
3. Butterscotch
Honestly, how?
Laid back and old school, they live by their own rules and keep a small but close knit group. Beware, these kids are the kind you won’t notice and they’ll have accomplished all of their goals while you’ll still filling out your forms.
4. Cake Batter
You might need a break every once in a while.
A party personified, they are the life of wherever they go. Be it class or a party, you know they are going to make sure everyone is laughing and having a good time.
5. Chocolate Chip
Simple as that.
They are the best and they know it. As if being good at everything wasn’t enough, they are also warm and helpful. Willing to lend an ear to mend your broken heart, you will find your potential best friend in them.
6. Bubble Gum
Suggestion: Run for your life
The plastiques of the lot (yes, that’s a reference from ‘Mean Girls’), they generally find each other. Much like bubble gum, they are extra sweet and seem eternally chirpy, but their façade fades.
7. Coffee
But would you rather not have them around?
Slightly bitter but you know you need them around, these are the kind of people who will keep it real. Honest almost to a fault, their bluntness may bother you at times but that’s why you befriend them in the first place. If nothing else, you can rely on their honest opinion.
8. Dulce de Leche
They’ll help you discover how money talks.
Everything is so fancy, you just want to touch it. From their hair to their car, these are the walking ATM’s. With so much money that they don’t feel like spending it themselves, they’re usually the kind to get used easily.
9. Lemon Sorbet
You’ll discover how evil you truly are.
Your worst enemy, you will hate everything about them. For reasons you can’t explain, you discover a passion for imagining scenarios one up-ing them.
10. Tutti – Fruity
Mine.
Every mothers favourite, they are going to make you wish you’d never brought them home. A great friend to begin with but even better to take home to convince your parents your new friends aren’t gang member or delinquents.
