Leaving your comfortable school life behind and beginning a totally new one all together can be scary. But here’s a secret…all those fears of being a fresher can be overcome.
1. Don’t be shy to approach people and start a conversation. They are freshers just like you so they too would be more than glad to make a friend.
2. Do not forget to carry your college ID and fee slip with you for smooth entry in college and to counter any other unexpected problems.
3. Attend the orientation program. It introduces you to the various facilities in the college besides it gives you an opportunity to create some good memories.
4. Check the notice board or college website frequently to remain up-to-date with information regarding various upcoming events etc.
5. For any help to locate your classroom or any such need do not hesitate to seek help from your seniors.
6. Every person has something unique in them and it’s okay to be different, so don’t worry about fitting in.
7. Instead of having reservations about your roommate or the hostel being awful, try to savour this new and exciting lifestyle.
8. Don’t be tense about making friends. We know it is hard to not have your best buddy around anymore, but soon you will make some here as well.
9. You have been given a seat for the course because you are competent enough so stop worrying about the tough competition and just try to give your best.
10. Ragging has been strictly under check and not a practice anymore and peer pressure is only successful if you let it get to you. Remember: Nobody can force you to do anything if you don’t want to.
