This year started badly – right from January 2020, there were scary Twitter trends to deal with. Small wonder that people say they hate the year 2020. Now, in August 2020, there still seems to be no cause for cheer – 2020 remains quite dreary for most of us; even many celebs! Reese Witherspoon created her own #2020Challenge to indicate that this year is really not going well – many others took up the ‘challenge’ of course.

Cate Blanchett, Mindy Kaling, Anne Hathaway and others had their pictures circulating on social media as well.
Arguably the finest actor of her generation is also impacted, according to this tweet.
Italian actor Giulio Berruti, starring in Gabriel’s Inferno (something of a heartthrob on social media these days) also finds mention here.

Actor-activist Michael Sheen seems to be going through the stages of grief here: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance.
2020 got progressively worse – for humans and their best friends.
It starts with a cheerful January and then it’s all rapidly downhill.
Every month is equally awful, presumably.
Some people seem to be quite upbeat and they feel that they are past the worst.
Obviously these dystopian times, kids are also confused by this changed reality.
The more artistic tweeple used their drawings rather than photos for the #2020 challenge.
This year has indeed been wild; and not in a good way. The #2020 challenge is just one way to express collective angst.
