No matter where we reach in life or how old we get, we can never forget our first love. Usually hitting you during your teens or early 20’s, your first love is memorable and special. Another thing it does is that it teaches you a lot of relevant life lessons. As such, here are five things that only your first love can teach you:
1. Conflict is not a bad thing:

Believe it or not, but conflict is actually not a bad thing. In fact, having conflict means that you’re in a relationship where both of your opinions are equal and valued. Only when you experience your first love will you realize that someone who truly loves you will always try to resolve the issue, whereas others would always want to win a fight.

Only when you experience your first true love will you understand that there is absolutely nothing wrong with your body. When you’re younger, you tend to look at things with a more shallow lens and try to find flaws in yourselves. This changes when you experience your first love because they would love you just the way you are.
3. Being vulnerable is absolutely okay:

You wont experience vulnerability until and unless you’re absolutely intimate with someone, both physically and emotionally. And this intimacy comes hand in hand with your first love. As such, your first love will teach you that being vulnerable is completely okay.
4. Things will not always work out:
Break ups can be hard
Despite you doing everything right, you can never guarantee that your relationship will be everlasting. So if your first real relationship ends, you will learn that sometimes things just don’t work out.

And the last, but perhaps the most important, thing that your first love teaches you is that you will find love again. No matter how good or bad your first relationship was, it’s never going to be your last one.
