There are few things in the world synonymous with luxury and with travel to exotic places as a trip on a luxury cruise ship. Compact but lavish accommodation, fine cuisine, laid on entertainment and all your needs are taken care of before they are even articulated! That and of course stunning destinations! Some of these luxury cruise liners are small and exclusive; others are veritable floating cities:
1. Allure of the Seas/Oasis of the Seas -
From the Royal Caribbean International these are two of the biggest cruise ships in the world with 2,706 state rooms and a 6,296 passenger capacity. The Allure ship has a theatre with 1,380 seats, a two-deck dance hall, an ice skating rink, a whopping 25 dining options and 7 distinct “neighborhoods”.
2. Crystal Cruises -
Ranked by Forbes as one of the top cruises in the world, the cruise line has been voted the Best Midsize Cruise Ship Line for 21 years. Personalized services, golf lessons from PGA pros and luxurious furnishings are just some of the features.
3. Silversea Cruises –
These are smaller, more exclusive boutique cruise ships that can accommodate 100 to 540 passengers. Luxury toiletries, butler services, exotic ports of call (even smaller ports off the beaten track) and ocean view suites are some of the features of these amazing ships.
4. Oceania Cruises –
The Miami Florida based cruise company is headed by Kunal M Kamlani and offers shorter as well as longer cruises of up to 180 days… a little something for people who can afford long sabbaticals. A cooking school, arts and craft classes, spa club, hot tubs, fine dining options, private suites and balconies are some of the features of the MS Riviera Oceania cruise ship.
5. Azamara Club Cruises –
These are smaller ships that are able to access smaller ports and offer activities such as wine and food tasting, walking tours, ballet and other performances by world renowned troupes, speciality restaurants and elegantly furnished cabins with floor to ceiling windows.
