Summer is here so swimming pools will be opening up soon. That means swimsuits. Swimsuits bring to mind Priyanka Chopra which will bring to mind Baywatch, which in turn brings into focus Zac Efron who used to be the thin, gawky singer from High School Musical, but now sports the to-die-for chiseled chest and abs. So, to help you guys out this summer, here are 5 push up variations that are going to shape your pecs all the way to perfection.

1. The Standard Push Up

The oldest exercise in the book. Spread your hands to the length of your shoulder and do the regular push up. The standard push up is actually very important to start your chest day and to make sure you warm up for the duel of the day.

 

2. The Diamond Push Up

Jumping straight to the toughest one. Make a diamond/triangle by joining the index fingers and thumbs of the two palms and then do the push up. It will be super hard, but hang in there, because those perfect pecs will make it all worth it.

 

3. The Wide Fly Push Up

Slightly different from the standard push up, these will do wonders for your sides. Spread your arms as wide as three to four feet (just don’t lose balance), and do the push up.

 

4. Decline Push Up

Another push up that isolates the chest from your torso. Place your feet in a stool the length of your arms and then decline down to almost 4 inches above the ground.

 

5. Military Push Ups

Probably the toughest after diamond push ups, military push ups are to swear by. Keep your closed fingers at the distance of your torso, very close to your sides and place your hands at the end of your chest so that your hands brush against your ribs when you bend down.
