You’re super excited to share last evening’s wedding gossip and the response you get is Hmmm, Uh-Ah, Ok. It’s  common right, and super annoying. Yes, these fill in the blanks are not conversation builders but killers and tells the other person to stop talking. Well, if that’s the intention, good job done. But otherwise, check out these 6 things not to say when you really want to talk.

1. Uhmm..You know.. Aah.. I mean

Zip it up!

No amount of ‘oohs‘ and ‘aahs‘ can magically supplement missing words, especially when you’re in the middle of a heated conversation and your partner is at a loss for coherency. Get a thesaurus, will you?

2. Starting every sentence with the likes of ‘like’ and ‘so’

stop-finishing-my-sentences

Will you please stop!

So most people like to begin their sentences with so. So is that like, annoying for you too? So you see where I’m going with this?

3. Using trendy catch phrases to no avail

True that.

Every conversation today begins with ‘whats’up’ and ends with ‘see you bro’. What’s worse is how ‘awesome’ has successfully replaced nouns, pronouns, adjectives, praises as well as sarcastic intonations.

4. Sugar Coating

Sugary nonsense!

An Indian specialty, sugar coating the truth is by far the most annoying  habit that people have. Whether it’s your dress they hate or your guts, they’d find a way to pull you down while complimenting you at the same time. Aaaah!

5. Clearing your throat

Nooooooo!

Talking to people  who clear their throat constantly can sometimes make your blood boil, especially when you’re trying to make a serious point and your audience is giving you unwanted background music.

6. Unnecessary hand gestures

Thank God for ropes!

There is something extremely irritating about holding conversations with people who look like fly swatters when they talk. Seriously.
