We all are the fans of Marvel ventures, be it the comics, or the movies. X Men especially have created a mystical world which we sometimes pine to be a part of, and secretly there is a part of all of us that wishes to have at least one of those mutant powers. So imagine that we could take a dive into their world and choose for our own, any one of these superpowers.
Teleportation, Blink
If we had Blink’s power, we could use it to go into war-ridden or terrorist captured areas and teleport the innocent civilians out of the danger zone. In a less aggravated situation, can you imagine how useful it would be when you didn’t want to get spotted by the colony’s gossip Aunty.
Reactive Evolution, Darwin
Suppose, just suppose you needed to adapt to your environment, for some reason. For example, your school bus fell into a river, and you needed to sprout gills to survive and save the others in the bus. Or you were about to be the victim of a hit-and-run and you decide to turn as hard as a pillar of solid iron. Sorted!
Technopathy, Jones
This is something only the ones who love being lazy will understand. Imagine never having to get up for the remote, and just blinking your eyes to change the channel that you want to watch. Cool, eh? Yep, that is one power to have.
Shapeshifting, Mystique
Sigh! What we would not give to have this power. The ability to transform oneself into anyone, literally. No need to worry about getting fat, or bad hair days, or being caught in your pyjamas, ever! Can you imagine the fun we could have? *winks*
Telepathy, Professor X
This power would be most handy when we wanted to go out for that socially important party, wearing the dress that Mom/Dad would never allow. Simply mind-speak to them that you are a responsible adult and that it’s OK, and voila, it is!
Superspeed, Quicksilver
This would be an extremely effective power for the corporate types, who have deadlines and targets to meet. Just zoom off and get everything done at lightning speed. Followed by promotions, salary hikes, adoration from the management…sigh!
Phasing, Shadowcat
For those of us who are women, the world is not particularly safe, especially off late. This power can come in quite handy when you are under any type of extreme danger, and your mind loses the ability to think and all you can do is run for your survival.
Phew! If only for the moment, we did enjoy going into the world of “what ifs”. There is so much more we could do with these powers in our universe.
