Deadpool in 2016 was the anti-hero's first outing on the big screen. In the sequel, we will see the Wisecracking mercenary Deadpool forming a team of three mutants -- Bedlam, Shatterstar and Domino -- to protect a boy from the all-powerful soldier Cable. The trailer is out and looks super-duper exciting. Ryan Reynolds has gone all out for the promotions, roping in Celine Dion and David Beckham to provide eye-candy for the masses.
This Bollywood movie looks engaging, promising and superb! India's nuclear state status was inagurated in 1998, thus making it a nuclear state and joining the ranks of U.S.A., China and Japan. A movie which stars macho John Abraham and pretty Diana Penty in pivotal roles, the trailer strikes a sharp chord with those who like to watch political thrillers.
The heist film genre is back and how! With a superb cast featuring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina and Rihanna, the movie turns norms on its head by featuring an all-women cast, who are all superstars in their own right, into the roles previously occupied by men who are at the top of the industry. The women band together to steal a prize jewel from the star-studded Met Gala and thus set off a chain of exciting events.
And the best part? All the ladies are in kick-ass form!
Woman-centric content has never been an easy experiment for Bollywood, considering the many times it has gone wrong in the past. But Veere Di Wedding promises to be different from the rest, with 2 top stars and 2 not-so-well known stars in the same frame, discussing their sexuality, liberality and right to marry the partner of their choice (or not marry at all). These topics are still taboo in certain parts of India, but at least the film is beginning somewhere with its smart packaging and with its heart in the right place.
As a teenager, I absolutely loved The Incredibles when it released in 2004. So when I heard a sequel would be announced, I realized that me and rest of the population would be equally delighted at the notion that the animated movie has a franchise! The kiddie in me re-surfaced and re-ignited, I was taken back to a world of innocence and fun. That notwithstanding, I realized the movie was a slice of family time and would raise questions of loyalty and civic duties. Bring it on, I say!
