The wedding season is here as our Facebook feeds are filled with those glittery and starry pictures of utter bliss, when two soulmates unite. Whilst everyone is doing the same old (though cute and very impressive) pre-wedding shoots, videos, and the ultimate wedding, there are those creative souls, who go beyond the extraordinary, to make this day memorable not only for themselves but for everyone. Today, let’s just take a look at some not so usual weddings to give you goals for your special day.

Jannette Burr & Hans Sachs

This is perhaps the oldest wedding which can be termed unusual. The duo got married in 1951, in Austria, while water skiing, that too in their wedding attire! Well, some people we know would certainly have a heart attack if their wedding gown were to be subjugated to such a torture, but what an utterly memorable wedding.

Noah Fulmor & Erin Finnegan

The duo got married in microgravity, floating inverted in the skies of South Florida. Well, given they could not have the space wedding that they originally wanted, this was the next best option.

Scott & Crystal Morrell

This was another ski wedding, where the duo had their nuptials done at the Loveland Ski Area Resort.

Jeroen & Sandra Kippers

They actually bung-jumped! They said yes after jumping, but quite a fun way, don’t you think? Theirs was labelled a marriage in the sky, and truly spectacular it was.

April Pignataro & Michael Curry

This one was underwater, and that too within a shark tank! Quite a large amount of courage would have been needed to say “I do’s” while being surrounded by ferocious creatures who could rip them apart in seconds.

Fran Calvo & Monica Fraile

This one was underwater too, but less scary, and a whole lot more beautiful, with the greens and weeds, with colourful sea beauty floating around, flora and fauna in all its glory. These two got married at the Sea Life Aquarium, in Spain.

Christof Galuschka & Evelyn New

These two got married in a Hot Air Balloon, no less! Quite magical it would have been, we’re sure; Flying in solitude, and saying words which described what they only felt for each other.

Rick Harper & Marlene Hoar

Ever heard of a Rappelling wedding? Adventure sport? Yes. Wedding theme? Hell, no. Especially not if you are well into your 50s and 60s. But this couple proved us wrong when Rick, then 64, married Marlene, then 55, rappelling down a skyscraper in Vancouver. My, we wouldn’t even dare.

Thrilling, daring, but adventurous and caring. No matter how unusual, we have to applaud them for such out of the box ideas. Know any other wedding that bowled you over with the innovativeness? Let us know in the comments below.
