The internet is a constant source of amusement and amazement. Challenges, memes, viral videos and images, people who become famous overnight, for no reason at all (sometimes for the worst reasons), illusions… it’s all constantly coming at us! So then when the image of what appeared to be a crow went viral, people were all agog! Here’s what it’s all about:
…Is a cat. When you look again at the picture, it becomes obvious that this is in fact a cat.
Yes I can make out the ear and then I see the tail and it is obviously a cat. But it’s a cat in a strange position where only one eye is visible for some reason… or it’s a one eyed cat. In fact its really troubling me now… where is the other eye!
As a cat this is a very strange picture (the absence of the eye being deeply unsettling). But even as a crow, this thing is really weird. Why, for instance would a crow give anyone such an eerily knowing look!
That image is eerie, as this tweet indicates… another cat image! What is with these cat lovers!
We've all received this image on WhatsApp. It was made famous by Ludwig Wittgenstein well over a 100 years ago. It can be seen as a duck or a rabbit. It’s all about perception!
Since everyone was on the subject of one animal looking like another, this Twitter user shared the picture of a dog who looked like a cat.
This rather convoluted explanation! And BTW, corvid or corvidae refers to the bird family that includes ravens, crows, jackdaws… birds known for their intelligence.
Yes that cat is quite startling. But at least it has both eyes!
