I've always maintained that Navjot Singh Sidhu had one of the easiest jobs in the world – his job was literally to be a spectator seated on a throne at a comedy show. All he did was laugh and make terrible rhymes every now and then. He was sacked following some remarks made back in 2019 and also got busy with politics. Archana Puran Singh took his place on Kapil Sharma’s comedy show. After Sidhu’s debacle with politics in the recently concluded assembly elections, people are wondering whether he is to return to his exceedingly cushy showbiz job.
There can be only one person who gets paid to do nothing but sit and laugh in a show. There cannot be two such people.

If Sidhu was sacked, why would be reinstated, just because he may want to be? It is almost certain that there would be a legally binding contract between the show and Archana Puran Singh.
It is by no means a done deal and there is nothing to say that Navjot Singh Sidhu will be welcome back on the show.
Do people on social media have nothing better to do than to keep checking on what is happening to Singh? Of course all of this is moot for those who don’t watch Kapil Sharma’s show – whether it is going to be Archana Puran Singh or Navjot Singh Sidhu sitting on that throne makes zero difference to them.
