The Google algorithm is clever at giving you the info you need when you search for it – and then the platform's AI does amusing things with some of the most popular searches. These have come to be known as the Easter Eggs – remember Thanos? Now that Friends are back on our collective radars with the one-off reunion show, people are once again googling all the characters. What turns up are these Friends Easter Eggs. Check them out and a few other 2021 Easter eggs:
Google Joey Tribbiani. This page will appear. When you click on that pizza slice right below the image collage, the magic happens. A bunch of his fave foods come up on the screen and then the voice: Joey doesn’t share food! Because food is his thing. (It could have been how you doin' as well of course.)
This page turns up. And then when you click on that soapy bucket, there is a cleaning sponge that appears and moves about – because you know, Monica is an OCD level clean-freak.
There is the guitar that is the icon here. Click it and the song Smelly Cat plays. Because Phoebe had this one song she sang – and not very well if memory serves.
That Barca lounger appears and when you click on that, the duck and the chick begin to noisily wander around your screen - until you shut the tab from sheer irritation.
You get the haircut icon – apparently this hair style is called The Rachel and so this image search result page is what you get when you click on the icon. So her hair was her main thing? Who knew!
This is actually the most freaky one of the lot – you get that couch icon and when you click on that, this happens. Remember Pivot! Pivot!? That. and the whole screen stays troublingly askew like that. It is most upsetting!
Remember how fidget spinners were all the rage a few years ago – these little things were being sold at ever traffic signal at the time. Google that and this is what you get. Click ‘SPIN’ and it spins. Click it again and it changes speed – it is a little dizzying.
Actually, it should be 'roll a die' because die is the singular and dice is plural but never mind the Grammar Nazis. So you Google this and click on ROLL and you will get a random number. Now why would anyone waste time doing this? well, because they can, I suppose.
Google Happy Holi and then click those little heaps of colour you see below the images. And then keep clicking anywhere on the page and this happens.
Since it is Pride month right now and people all over are celebrating LGBTQIA+ it’s the right time to Google Pride Flag and then click the heart icon. Then this is what you get – a colourful Easter Egg!
