The trailer of Mission Mangal released and promptly started to trend at #1 on YouTube. Social media loved the trailer of the movie based on a true story about ISRO scientists – with good reason. The trailer promises an optimistic, cheering, essentially Indian film; with a super ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Tapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi and many others – and everyone's loving it.
The movie is based on real incidents and people and tells the story about India’s mission to Mars. It is an upbeat story about ordinary people overcoming extraordinary odds and amidst a real paucity of resources; sometimes using some native commonsense and homegrown tech.
Various actors come together to tell the story of Mangalyan, or the Mars Orbiter Mission, which was India's first interplanetary expedition – famously cheaper than an auto rickshaw ride of the same distance.
There are many delightful and inspiring moments in the film. People seem to be looking forward to a movie that simply tells a great story rather than the usual formulaic masala film with a bunch of glamorous stars that Bollywood is better known for.
Many other actors and filmmakers expressed their appreciation for the film and said that they were looking forward to its release.
The story of Mangalyan is inspiring. People are really looking forward to watching the film when it releases on 15th August 2019.
The story is about a bunch of seemingly ordinary people doing the extraordinary to make India the first country to reach Mars on its first attempt.
Akshay Kumar has proved to be India's most bankable star and the most likely to turn out movies with new stories and interesting content.
This line of Kumar in the film that depicts an unshakable resolve has inspired many memes.
Anyone who has ever tried to get old schoolmates together for a reunion knows the huge odds of this ever happening.
We all seem to have travel plans that never seem to come to fruition.
This one also seems made for memes
The ever topical Mumbai Police Twitter handle quickly capitalised on the movie trailer’s meme-worthiness by putting out this anti-drunk-driving tweet. Meanwhile many are looking forward to Mission Mangal that releases on Independence Day, 15 August 2019.
