We stumbled upon some exquisite currency notes from around the world. Almost all countries have their own form of currency, and here we highlight some splendid designs from across the globe, which are no less than art.
Australia was the first country which started using plastic polymer notes. The designs featured famous cultural figures of the country that also included Aboriginal writer David Unaipon as pictured above.
As part of the celebrations of their 400th anniversary, Bermuda redesigned their currency to debut in 2009, since the launch of their dollar. Bermudian Dollars was awarded by The Bermuda Monetary Authority for their creativity.
Cook Islands Dollars is one of the best currency designs, when it comes to natural imagery pictures. This beautiful currency was introduced in 1987 but was replaced shortly in 1992.
Paired with a boat, palm tree, and an old fishing vessel, the currency of Maldives was designed by Maizan Hassan Manik and Abbas.
In 2007, the traditional leader’s portrait was replaced by Mount Everest. The note represented the mirror of political change which transformed from Kingdom to Republic in 2008.
While we almost see political structure, historical figures, or geographic signifiers on most currency notes, the currency of Dutch is sort of different from them. With few geometrical patterns and colours combining together, this currency is colourful and unique from the rest.
You can observe the Egyptian tradition and culture in these pretty notes. The note looks like a true and royal piece of art.
Against the backdrop of folk patterns, Icelandic Kronur is one of the best currencies with a sense of good design and colour coming together with a historical figure on it. The note somehow manages to capture your attention.
This design of the note was issued by the National Bank of Kazakhstan in 2006, with one side displaying vertically and the other horizontally as well as having text in both Kazakh and Russian.
With all sorts of flora and fauna, Fijian Dollars were one of the best out of all. With a huge insect on the dollar, Fijian Dollar looks so fantastic.
