RPG Chairman Harsh Goenka is one Indian industrialist with a vast social media following. With his 1.5 million Twitter followers, what he says is heard and what he shares often becomes viral. So when he shared a video of a daredevil auto tyre change, this started a discussion around it. Check it out:
Perhaps Harsh Goenka was reminded of the Visa James Bond commercial from a few years ago featuring Peirce Brosnan having a terrifying auto ride when he captioned this video. One auto driver maneuvers his auto to ride precariously on two wheels. A man proceeds to remove the wheel and another auto turns up with a spare which is fitted on while the auto is still in motion!
I also had this question since at no point have I ever noticed James Bond doing something as mundane as changing a tyre.
This comment points out that the stunt is more in keeping with Rajinikanth’s antics than James Bond's.
There is some skill required here – planning, coordination and audacity are significant requirements as well!
While most of us would take a minimum of 15 to 30 minutes to change a tyre, this lot here did it all super-fast; super efficiently.
As this commentator pointed out, even Formula 1 race cars do make pit-stops for tyre changes.
People were amazed at the daredevilry – and the sheer disregard for safety. This they felt could happen only in India.
I couldn’t see the number plate clearly, but the tweeple have sharper eyes.
This commentator feels that such stunts jeopardise road safety which they do, but admires the stunt for and in itself.
A stunt like this could easily end up in a deadly tragedy felt some. Some were also annoyed with Goenka for sharing the video as though it was something praiseworthy rather than a public danger. They thought it was irresponsible of Goenka to share something like this and ‘encourage’ such foolhardiness. After all, there is nothing that thrill-seekers like these want more than attention – especially the attention of a personality such as Harsh Goenka.
