Hardik Pandya Got A Lamborghini - What Is It with Guys and Flashy Cars!

There is no doubt that Hardik Pandya is a talented, reliable and entertaining cricketer. However, his statements and attitudes in his personal life tend to be controversial. He frequently receives criticism for his flashy lifestyle, his bragging and womanising. His flamboyance tends to attract rather more attention that it should – sometimes positive, sometimes negative. Hardik Pandya’s acquisition of a bright orange sports car; a Lamborghini is very much in character.

A very flashy car

The brothers Hardik and Krunal arrive in this highly noticeable car; a car that appears most out of place in the narrow, crowded streets of a Mumbai suburb. The car comes to a stop, the two get out and walk into a building, oblivious to the voices greeting them.

Yes, but Mumbai?

As a person who struggles to put a car in the third gear anywhere in Mumbai, this is the first thing that occurred to me: a Lamborghini? In Mumbai?? Well whatever floats your boat, Pandya.

Also, in India?

Our roads have potholes – of any and all sizes. They have speed bumps – of any height that the neighbourhood wants them to be. So I’ll ask anyone with a beautiful, low-slung car with practically zero ground clearance in India (Lamborghini or a Ferrari or any other flash sports car) what are you thinking!

Then there is this problem

Refueling, servicing, spares; even tyre inflating for these cars is difficult and expensive. So really, this is not the ideal choice for the Indian who’s first question when buying a car is - कितना देती है - about fuel efficiency.

The real reason?

Powerful cars make the men driving them, feel powerful. Many people believe that expensive cars attract women. But Pandya doesn’t have a problem in that department --- does he?

Men and fast cars

For a lot of young men, a car such as the one Pandya was spotted in, is the actualization of all dreams and ambitions. Such a car is evidence of success; the reason why they worked so hard in the first place.

However

Sometimes the sexy, powerful, beautiful car does not quite match the personality of the person in it… though the person in it may suffer from serious delusions.

The accessories

Sometimes guys will try and jazz up their car to make it look like a sports car – with body accessories, graphics, bigger tyres. Pathetic, much?

Waste of money!

Buying the car is not the only expenditure. Owning, running and maintaining a racecar costs a fortune too. For his sake, I hope Pandya continues to play good cricket.

Perils of the race car

Maybe Hardik Pandya will manage to get his swanky Lamborghini onto a nice highway (without it getting stuck in a pothole or on a speedbump) where he can really put it through its paces. But isn’t he worried about all the other idiot road users? Isn’t he afraid for his life – and his Lamborghini?
