They are successful, famous and enjoy the love and support of the people. Celebrities are the chosen few you could say – talented, beautiful or both. They make the same mistakes we do and many of them have also gone to jail. We look at celebrities who have done jail time – from Bollywood as well as Hollywood.
He may be Ironman; he may be among the highest paid actors in the world. But he has seen some dark times. In 1996 he was arrested for possession of cocaine and heroin. He spent 6 months and then one year in jail.
Bollywood’s enfant terrible, has been accused of running over homeless people with his car, shooting endangered animals, assaulting ex girlfriends…his rap sheet is long! However, apart from a total of a few weeks spent in jail, he has managed not to spend too much time in jail.

He was also charged with criminal intimidation and wrongful confinement. He was sentenced to 7 years in prison, but the verdict was stayed and his accuser was charged with perjury.
Star of the Blade Film trilogy, author and martial arts exponent, Snipes has also had a run in with the law; in his case for tax evasion and defrauding the government. He was sentenced to three years in prison.
He was never considered to be much of a star or even much of an actor; when he was arrested for possession of cocaine his career nosedived completely. He was granted immunity against prosecution by the court when he underwent detox.
Actor, producer and rapper better known as Marky Mark, was abusing drugs by the time he was 13. At 15 he threw rocks and racial slurs at African American kids. At 16 he was arrested for a racially charged assault of a Vietnamese man for which he did 45 days of jail time.
The late actor (who did many feature films and notably was Mihir in Kyunki Sas Bhi Kahi Bahu thi) was accused of rape by his girlfriend, which he said was an affair gone wrong. He was arrested and later released on bail for this. He died of cardiac arrest last year.
