This variety of mango hits the market by the month of April making it the earliest variety of mango available to the lovers. Banganapalli is originally from Andra Pradesh that has bright yellow color skin and a sour taste.

2. Pairi
Along with Banapalli, Pairi is the next variety that makes an entry in the month of May. The skin of Pairi is slightly red in color and it smells extremely sweet and strong. The mango has no sort of sourness in it. Just grab it and it will make you feel heaven. It tastes as sweet as honey.

3. Neelam
Available throughout the season, the most tastier batch of Neelam comes in the month of June. These mangoes originally come from Hyderabad and is famous all around the world for its slightly orange skin and extremely sweet taste.

4. Totapuri
This is one of the most famous variety of mangoes available in the market and it is extremely easy to identify them due to its elongated shape. Totapuri comes from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and is widely accepted around the country. The taste is not so sweet like the rest but can be preferred in salads or mixes.

5. Alphonso
Hailing from the state of Maharashtra, Alphonso also known as Hafus is known as the King of mangoes for its perfectly golden skin and divine taste. This mango is named after Afonso de Albuquerque, a Portuguese soldier who established Portuguese colonies in Goa, India.

6. Dussehri (Malihabadi)
Hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab Dussehri mango is fibreless mango with long elongated green color skin over it. The mango is extremely sweet and aromatic.

Specialty of Chaunsa is that just when you think the mango season is over, this particular variety of mango will flood the market. These mangoes have incredibly sweet pulpy and yellow skin, which is basically fibreless. The best ones come from Pakistan and are exported across the world.

Many of them remember this name of Mango properly due to its name ‘langra’ which means a person who walks with a limp. This fibrous mango enters the market in mid-July finding a huge popularity in West Bengal as well as Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar.

Himsagar is quite popular in Bengali families as they swear by Himsagar mangoes when it comes to sweetness. Arriving in the month of may, this is the shortest lived mango in the market, because its cultivation is comparatively more difficult than others. With sweet taste and aroma, Kishan Bhog comes from the state of West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. These mangoes are easy to recognize due to its round shape and fleshy tissue.
