Jugjugg Jeeyo is what people say when they bless a newlywed couple – live long and prosper. Now, this is a film starring Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor, Manish Paul and Prajakta Koli. The trailer of Jugjugg Jeeyo dropped recently. Check out the trailer and some of the reactions to it as well as the controversy surrounding it.
The movie is set in Patiala and claims “it’s full of love and laughter, colour and drama. It’s about family and its values, unresolved yearnings, and unexpected reconciliations.” The movie is about two generations of relationships on the rocks and will release in cinemas on 24th June, 2022. The younger couple is at a family get-together and trying to figure out a good time to tell everyone about their decision to get divorced, only to find that the father (Anil Kapoor) wants to do the same.
People like the pairing of Varun Dhawan who plays Kukoo opposite Kiara Advani as Naina.
This appears to be a story of a couple with strong feelings for each other – positive and negative.
Divorce is still very much a taboo issue in our society – Neetu Kapoor’s character says as much. Hopefully the movie will tackle the subject with sensitivity and not try to show that it is important to ‘save’ the relationship at all costs.
The movie promises to be a romcom with the misunderstandings and the problems along with the humour.
The movie promises to be a typical Bollywood film – some melodrama, some farce, some naach-gaana – the fully nine yards.
Produced by Karan Johar, this film should have all that people expect of a KJo film: the costumes, the dance, the locales and more.
Audiences are looking forward to a fun family drama.
This isn't really funny – hope the rest of the movie is somewhat better.
Maybe it’s just some cooked-up pre-release controversy, maybe it is genuine.
This Twitter user has made this claim about his story being copied.
Pakistani singer Abrar Ul Haq has made this allegation about unahthorised use of his song in the film.
While the story issue may be less clear, the song appears to be a straight lift. Wonder what the makers of Jugjugg Jeeyo have to say about that.
