The idea of disappearing into and actually living inside a magical board game is a fascinating one. The success of the Robin Williams starrer Jumanji is a testament to this. The ‘sequel’ Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle which came 22 years later; updated the board game to a video game and was also successful. We are now to have the third edition of Jumanji. Jumanji part three also stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, as did part two. This time we also have the lovable Danny DeVito and Danny Glover; and rapper actress Awkwafina.
The sequel was two decades in coming and it completely changed what we had come to expect from the Jumanji franchise. It surprised us – in a good way. Part three promises to deliver as well.
In the movie, Bethany, Fridge, and Martha decide to go save their buddy Spencer by reentering the game’s alternate reality.
Grandpa Eddie (DeVito) and his friend Milo (Glover) also get sucked in. Like part two, the in-game avatars are very different than the real life ones.
People are loving that the little, irascible, grizzled DeVito will be transformed into the hunky Rock in his game avatar.

Part one was a little scary (or maybe I was a kid then). Part two was quite funny. Jumanji part three promises to be even funnier, thanks to the curmudgeonly seniors who've been roped in.
Maybe there is something to this? Or not.
The movie hits theatres near the end of December. Some fans don’t want to wait that long for the movie, but right now they just have to be content with the first trailer of Jumanji: The Next Level.
