The news cycles are dominated by the Novel Coronavirus – dos and don'ts, misinformation etc. Keeping sane during these days of social distancing is difficult. There are some others who are doing their bit – probably unknowingly – to take our minds off the blasted virus that currently dominates our lives. Rangoli Chandel, the usually fiery sister of Kangana Ranaut has done her bit to give us pause from the incessant bombardment of COVID-19 news.
This picture was presumably taken during more amicable times before the highly public Hrithik Roshan-Kangana Ranaut spat. Chandel’s tweet calls Roshan a ‘pappu’ and speaks of the man trying to impress her in the past and now treating her as a stranger.
Most people have now lost much of the sympathy they had for Ranaut and her sister.
The continuing and unnecessary hostility has not endeared the sisters to the mango people. Some now view this as actual harassment.
Being in a photo with someone is not evidence of one of those people trying to ‘impress’ someone. People posted other examples.
This commentator started a thread off tweets; each with a photo of Roshan along with some other person.
A photo taken with a celebrity proves nothing. In fact it probably proves the opposite of what Chandel’s original tweet claims, felt people.
Some cheered her --- either because they sympathise with the sisters or because they simply enjoy a good public spat.
Twitter is a harsh place. People express their disapproval and/or disagreement in no uncertain, very rude terms.
“She has suffered,” says this tweet.
Most people have just had enough of needless aggression and animosity that the sisters consistently display on and offline. Victimhood of this sort has diminishing returns.
Rangoli looks fairly happy in the picture, pointed out this commentator. It was also (correctly) pointed out that Rangoli is perhaps the best example of nepotism – someone who has achieved fame and money for no reason other than the fact that she is related to someone talented and successful.
Many have had enough to of the belligerent attitude of Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel. On the other hand, the dignified silence maintained by Hrithik Roshan in the face of what can only be seen as grave provocation has earned him support. However, what Ranaut and co. really needs to worry about is this: many of her recent films have not done well at all at the box office --- and in Bollywood, one is only as good as one’s last hit.
