Malgudi Days' Swami, Mani And Rajam Had A Reunion That Will Take You Back To Your Childhood

Whosoever grew up in the wonderful and sepia tinted nostalgia of the 1980s would remember Malgudi Days, the sweet and cuddly funny story of Swami and his wonderful adventures with friends from Malgudi, a fictional but lovely town created by the literary genius of R.K Narayan. Recently, the cast of the much loved and adorable show had a renuion and it sent us fans back to the glorious bygone era, one filled with unmissable nostalgia

1. Swaminathan is very much here and buzzing with action

Manjunath Nayaker, an earnest and talented Maharashtrian actor who essayed the cuddly role of Swami, one which became part of our growing up years was a pleasant site to behold, in the recent union that apparently happened in 2015.

2. The reunion of Swami with Rajam and Mani brought alive many buried memories

Innocent, childlike, playful and harmlessly cute. These were the impressions we all shared about Swaminathan and his friends from Malgudi. And ever since the 54th episode the show was whisked away from the television screen, and we have all wanted to know where these much loved characters were. Thankfully, now we know.

3. Swami meets his friends and it is a site to behold

The three interesting characters from the wonderful and sweet Malgudi Days came together in Mumbai. Perhaps, after days and years together. It was a befitting reminder to the time gone by and equally interesting to note how they look today. 

4. Tweets were abuzz with a walk down the Malgudi lane

Malgudi Days inspired imagination and drove us to re-align ourselves in the lives of its characters, prompting us to think of ourselves as Swami; naughty, funny, emotional and an utterly loved character. The recent reunion of Manjunath Nayakar who played Swami with impish fun, stoked some pleasant memories.

5. A thoroughly talented actor, but for us he will always be Swami

Manjunath is all grown up now and how! Well ahead from the byone beautiful days of the innocent and notorious Swami, he's an actor who to this day has appeared in nearly 70 movies, starring in many Kannada films. The reunion reminded us that how, Manjunath's character as Swami still finds instant reckoning in the mind.

6. Giving a glimpse of how quickly time changes

Manjunath revealed, at his renunion with Rajam and Mani that he is still very much into movies and involved with acting and that one of the most inspiring highlights of his career has been his rise to fame as Swami from Malgudi Days.

7. The love that Malgudi Days still commands

Whether you are a laidback charmer who grew up admiring the simplistic virtues of the 80s or a busy corporate professional who zips along in an era of technology driven pursuits and endeavors, when it comes to revisiting childhood memories, there are few sights that provide as much fun and entertainment as RK Narayan's Malgudi Days.
