Back in the day, there was a hit song called Ice Ice Baby by someone called Vanilla Ice (presumably to differentiate a white guy doing rap, which was unusual). That song was based on the classic Queen and David Bowie song Under Pressure. Not too original of Vanilla Ice, who didn’t make much else of interest. However, this song by the one-song wonder is kind of timeless and meme-worthy and now people are recalling it 30 years after it first became a hit. It also seems to be the perfect accompaniment to this video of guys slipping on ice:
We wonder why that guy is crossing the road on hands and knees – until we see how very slippery that road is because of the ice. And then ice ice baby makes sense
Snowfall is just starting in some parts of the world – and the first snow is wondrous for humans and non-humans.
These gorgeous big cats seem to like the snow as well.
Making snow angels in the snow is something many of us would like to do – but don’t often get to do.
Watching these bovines gambol in the snow seems to prove that snow can be quite delightful.
This guy is trying to shovel and clear the snow – but clearly for the dog the priorities are different.
…Would rather do the job themselves.

As this video shows, the excitement of snow is all very well, but the ice and the sleet on the road can be very very dangerous.
Perhaps those of us who long for snow may remember the tedium of having to clear the snow from cars and our surroundings and thank our stars that we don’t have to deal with dangerous and slippery roads?
