And before you think to correct me, I know it’s Kannedda to use the proper Punjabi pronunciation of the word. Canada is like the promised land of the Punjabis. Half a million Punjabis are now settled in the North American country and have made a name for themselves as successful business people and community leaders. So why do Punjabis love Canada so much?

Just like back home in Punjab, Punjabis settled in Canada have vast landholdings and are some of the most successful farmers in the country. While Punjabi farmers struggle for survival here in India, a better fate awaits them in their adopted home.

Unlike the UK and the USA with their stringent immigration laws, immigrating to Canada is a lot easier because the laws there are more relaxed. Why not go where one is welcome?
