When there is a Salman Khan film release in the pipeline, his fans go into overdrive. His much-awaited Radhe is due to release and his fans cannot keep calm. No matter how clichéd, unoriginal or just bad the film is, the dedicated Salman fan will still show their loyalty – unquestioningly. Now with Radhe about to release, those fans want to watch the film in theatres – so what if there is a pandemic on! So what if there aren't any theatres open to display the film when it releases on 13 May 2021!
Very few theaters in India will be screening this film. Bhai’s much-vaunted Eid release is thwarted by the coronavirus.
Indians abroad – in countries like Australia and UAE are more likely to be able to catch the film in theatres.
Most bhai fans will have to be content with ‘booking’ tickets to their home ‘theatres’ – like this.
The film is available on Zee Plex so fans can watch with family for the price of one ticket.
Fans are looking forward to the release of Radhe though the movie promises nothing new, nothing original.
Bhai has done numerous films where he plays --- himself. He has been in remakes of others’ films and even his own, seemingly.
No matter what formula he repackages for the audience, no matter how mediocre the product, his fans remain loyal. The bhai fan isn't really looking for good cinema – all he wants is the invincible, larger than life hero he can identify with and escape reality for a few hours.
The Salman fan genuinely thinks this man can act… and that they watch his films for his acting talent.
We have had numerous Salman films where he has played the loose-cannon cop who has contempt for the legal system; who single-handedly takes down the biggest baddies. The film may be awful, but fans will still find something to like – namely Bhai.
Lines such as these, “Dil mein aata hu, samajh mein nahi’, "Swagat nahi karoge aap hamara?" "Ek baar maine commitment kardi toh phir mein apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta." These ‘seeti-maar’ lines have become the stuff of legend among Salman Khan Fans. Now Raadhe even has a song titled seeti-maar – is it any wonder his fans are looking forward to this release – and are desolate that they cannot watch it in the cinema. What fun is it to whistle at home with family around, after all?
