Remember Friends? Of course, you do. It was a sitcom that an entire generation grew up with. Its reruns are among the most-watched in TV history. So, safe to say, Friends, warts and all is still deeply beloved and a reunion now almost 16 years later, is causing people to lose their minds. Here is what it’s all about; why #FriendsReunion was trending:
It is happening. Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, Joey, and Ross will be seen together once again.
We will see Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer together again, to put it more accurately.
…Very happy. So happy they wanted to cry.
There have been many rumours. Many hopes were raised in the past – only to be dashed.
Jennifer Anniston’s Instagram announcement of the reunion attracted (orgasmic) delight – as Kate Hudson’s comment on the post indicates.
Baby Emma celebrated her birthday in Season 8 which aired 2002 --- this sounds about right.
Like the one about the sock bunny.
In fact, could fans be any happier?
Much like Alec Baldwin’s guest character – remember him? So excited, he was exhausting!
Remember annoying Janice? How could we not.
Do we really need a #FriendsReunion? Good question. Don’t the reunions create unrealistic expectations? Don’t they always disappoint? Don’t they? Don’t they!
This is to be an unscripted one hour special. It will be a one-off designed for the launch of the HBO Max streaming service; which will also air the complete 10 Seasons of Friends.
Those who were hoping for a reboot of the series were disappointed. Those who were expecting even one episode were disappointed.
This is not to be a scripted episode, just a sit-down interview/chat setting. So, a lot of hopes were dashed.
The enthusiasm disappeared.
Right now, Netflix is still streaming the whole series. HBO Max launches in May 2020 and promises to stream all ten seasons of Friends. So anyone who gets nostalgic for the sitcom and the respective fave characters/scenes from it has access – 24x7. So what if the #FriendsReunion hashtag was a little misleading.
