These Trailers Promise Funny, Entertaining, Scary, Amazing Upcoming Movies

The movies are all about good stories. Yes, they are about technology and good production values and artful direction, but basically, they are about quality storytelling. And there is a lot of that in store for the movie buff. Here are trailers of movies that promise to be funny, enjoyable, moving… Late Night, Men in Black: International, The Lion King, Gemini Man, Child’s Play, The Addams Family, Sonic the Hedgehog

Late Night

The comedy drama film about a late show host, stars Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling as well as Max Casella, Hugh Dancy, John Lithgow, Denis O'Hare and others. Thompson’s character Katherine Newbury is the only woman host of a late show and her show is going downhill. It needs rescuing and she decides she needs a woman on her team of writers. Enter Kaling as Molly Patel. The movie releases on 7 June 2019 and promises to be funny and entertaining.

Men in Black: International

No there is no Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones, but this fourth edition of the MIB franchise will feature Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Kumail Nanjiani, Emma Thompson and Liam Neeson among others. This one has a feisty woman in black as well, awesomely cool gadgets, some new slimy/hideous aliens. Looks like a fun, fun ride, Men in Black: International releases on 14 June 2019.

Child’s Play

I don’t like movies about things that go bump in the night but maybe you do? Well then, this one is for you. This is a reboot of the 1988 film about the murderous toy named Chucky. This is a modern version of the film about that evil doll and releases on 21st June.

The Lion King

Releasing on 19th July, this is the remake of the beloved Disney animated film. The 2019  photorealistic computer animated remake has the same set of characters: Simba, Pumbaa, Timon, Scar, Nala, Mufasa, Rafiki, Sarabi etc. The beloved old story takes on a new life in this film – you could anticipate this "technologically groundbreaking" new version or be wary of a cherished old musical destroyed much as 2016’s Jungle Book did (for me) the original 1967 classic. Songs such as "Circle of Life", "I Just Can't Wait to Be King", "Hakuna Matata", and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" will thankfully be retained in the new film.

Gemini Man

“25 years ago they made you from me,” says Will Smith to a younger version of himself. And there you have the premise of Gemini Man, a sci-fi film where a Henry Borgen, an ageing assassin battles a younger clone of his. Junior is created to ‘retire’ the older version. The film uses a visual effects technology called de-ageing, which can help create realistic flashbacks by making actors look younger. The movie releases on 11 October 2019.

The Addams Family

This is going to be an animated 3D film of the comedy horror genre (think Hotel Transylvania). The story revolves around a family reunion and a faceoff against an evil reality TV show host. This is a very strange family indeed: the hideous home, torturing each other, ‘kick’ing good night and so on.

Sonic the Hedgehog

This is an adventure comedy film based on the video game of the same name. The movie is about anthropomorphic extraterrestrial blue hedgehog (voiced by Ben Schwartz) who can run at incredible speeds and emits strange energy. The story about a sheriff (James Marsden) trying to capture the blue creature and the crazy scientist Dr. Ivo Robotnik played by the inimitable Jim Carrey releases on 8th November 2019.
