Remember the previous Baaghi films? Me neither. Apparently there was the first one in 1990 starring Salman Khan, then one in 2000 starring Sanjay Dutt. Then there were two more: starring Tiger Shroff and Shradha Kapoor in 2016 and Tiger Shroff and Disha Patni in 2018. And now there is Baaghi 3 again with Tiger Shroff and Shradha Kapoor which releases on 6 March 2020. The Baaghi 3 trailer released on 6 February and promptly shot up to No 1 on YouTube's trending videos.
There is the ultra-tough guy Ronnie (Tiger Shroff), his easy-going but vulnerable brother (Riteish Deshmukh) and the foul-mouthed love interest Siya (Shradha Kapoor). There are fights, and guns blazing and cracked limbs and bombs and tanks and choppers – regulation ‘action’ flick ingredients. There is also Whack. Smack. Attack. Never look back – all part of the trailer. I kid you not.
Most of us didn’t ask for his return, but, well he is back.
Apparently it is one guy against – wait for it – an entire nation. This guy threatens to finish off the existence of some nation if anything happens to his brother. Yes, apparently this film will be that level of OTT.
Some are looking forward to the highly athletic stunts, the stunningly ripped physique and the endless fights. Some just love Tiger Shroff.
While many found the action highly impressive, others were less impressed.
The sheer implausibility of the trailer has put off a lot of people who want more from cinema than just mindless high-octane action.
Some feel that a third installment in the Baaghi series may be one too many.
Some found traces of other action movies in the Baaghi 3
Some felt that the action was a bit too much.
On the one hand is Wonder Woman; on the other hand is Ronnie in remarkably similar setups.
Some found similarities with other Bollywood films starring Salman Khan.
“Phod deta hoon,” Ronnie says, smouldering into the camera.
Bubble wrap!
Some were still euphoric about India’s comprehensive win over Pakistan in the Under 19 world cup.
Some lamented the callous disregard that the film trailer shows for basic laws of physics.
Apart from the all else, there is a helicopter piled up on another and cars piled one on top of the other. Why? Who can tell. Maybe when Baaghi 3 releases on 6 March 2020, we shall know more about the car stacks and potential destruction of a nation.
