Subramanian Swamy is seen by some as the nation’s conscience, looking to bring the corrupt and the errant to justice; to his detractors he is an unhinged loose cannon not fully in control of his ramblings. In times past, his efforts have brought the high and mighty (but corrupt) to justice but he also, controversially referred homosexual people as genetically handicapped and made other frankly offensive statements. There are those who think that this time, Subramanian Swamy went too far!
According to Subramanian Swamy, Rajinikath, superstar and beloved of the masses has committed financial fraud. According to Swamy, Rajinikanth should steer clear of politics because he had "substantial proof of financial irregularities that would 'knock down' Rajinikanth's political ambitions”.
Swamy again lashed out at Rajini, saying that the superstar is illiterate and unfit for politics; also calling him scatterbrained. He reiterated that Rajini should stay out of politics.
Swamy has aired his many, definite views over primetime TV as well as over Twitter, where he called Rajini a 420 (cheat) also making a reference to the Delhi CM, one of his favorite targets.
The Thalaivaa’s long term friend Raja Bahadur was quick to defend the superstar. According to him, Rajini is twice as intelligent and literate as Swamy.
The sort of adulation Rajini commands is second to none. The sort of reception he and his movie releases get is the stuff of legend. You don’t go around insulting a man like this!

Standup comic Pant asked this pertinent question; a very legitimate one considering that Swamy is rarely found to speak positively about anyone.
When one Twitter user pointed that there are many corrupt people in Indian politics, giving the example of Sasikala, Swamy promptly claimed credit for putting her in jail and called the hapless chap ‘demented’.
Swamy had attacked another beloved son of South India, Kamal Haasan. Calling Tamilians ‘hooligans’ he referred to Haasan as “boneless wonder and pompous idiot called Kamal Hasan”, who had this graceful, killer comeback!
