A no-nonsense person, by its very definition, is someone who cannot stand any kind of nonsense taking place around them. The best example of this is Sheldon Cooper’s character from The Big Bang Theory. If you follow the show you know he hates someone breaking the rules around him or a vendor quoting some extortionately high price. A no-nonsense person won’t put up with any of it. Here are five ways to check if you have your very own Sheldon Cooper or at least an absolutely no-nonsense person around you (since there is only one Sheldon Cooper).
They get easily irritated
If you know someone who always gets irritated even at the slightest hint of anything being out of order, you know you’re dealing with a no-nonsense person.
They lack patience
If they see anyone flouting a rule, doing something wrong or trying to act sneaky, they’ll instantly react as they lack the patience to deal with it.
They are not afraid of giving it back
If they see anyone breaking a rule, they are not afraid to call that person out and, if need be, not afraid of giving it back either.
They are not subtle
If you have a friend or family member who does not care about making a scene when they see someone being a douche, that’s an indicator of a no-nonsense person as the word ‘subtlety’ does not exist for them.
They don’t compromise
This is perhaps the strongest indicator of knowing a no-nonsense person. They’ll refuse to compromise with anyone even if their life depended on it.
