The Indian student (and the Indian teacher) is a unique breed. We are known for being very hardworking, excellent at mugging-up stuff and being really clued in to the system. We love going abroad to study but are even more proud if we get into our own med schools and IITs and premier management institutions. Plus we are very respectful of our teachers. Some of us love our teachers; others not so much Do you recognize these students/ teachers? Are you or have you been one?

Recognize this guy? Or perhaps that actually was you though school and college?
If you're in the front row, you're an enthu cutlet. If you're a back bencher, you like to eat or sleep in class. If you sit in the centre you're most likely to be elected class representative. Hey! I didn’t make those rules!
….as their kids. Bad marks are not an option. EVER!
….are your parents’ bad marks! And because emotional blackmail is the birthright of every Indian parent!
“Is this a fish market? ” “I want pin drop silence”, “did you forget to eat; how can you forget your homework/book/assignment?” You did? Clearly you studied in India.
They threaten fire and brimstone at times, but it’s only for the students’ own good, after all!
They just don’t want their students to be happy! Right? If students seem happy, they worry!
They have plenty of ideas
Was that a difficult exam paper? Yeh saazish hai, milord you want to yell out!
