There are those who think astrology is a science; even a divine science. Others don’t agree. I myself have a hard time believing that distant planets and stars decide what sort of a person I will be and how much of a loser I’ll turn out to be. If you're like me, you will find these astrology memes hilarious:
Now I have a hard time believing that 1/12th of the population has similar characteristics.
I also do not believe that similar things will happen to those people or that they will all have a similar day/weekly experiences as predicted by Linda Goodman and/or Bejaan Daruwalla (no relation).
That guy is not brilliant because he is a Scorpio, nor is she delightful company because she is Sagittarian. You will not succeed in life because of the place or time you were born. Please don’t try to convince others? Please.
Yes, if they predict something like ‘you're going to have a great day today’ that will happen at least some of the time. If they say ‘you're feeling lonely’, this likely applies to a great deal of the population anyway.
So of course, some ‘predictions’ come true some of the time – some are true all the time – like this one. It’s called coincidence; at best an educated guess.
Astrology can be harmful for true love! Many are the broken hearts who were never united simply because their ‘kundalis’ (the detailed horoscope made at birth) did not match.
For some people, the belief in numerology, healing crystals, colour therapy, birthstones and so on can be a deal breaker.
We all want to hear that being born under our particular star means that we are lovely, intelligent, empathetic people who make wonderful lifelong friends. We want to be told that things will turn out great or that things are about to change for the better. I get that. It is tempting to believe.
Countless big stars and wannabe stars add an A, remove an E, shorten or lengthen names because numerology! Do they really believe that having X number of letters in their name will decide their fate at the box office?
Maybe some really do study the charts but a lot of ‘astrologers’, ‘numerologists’, ‘psychics’, ‘soothsayers’ and ‘crystal ball gazers’ are just charlatans out to make a quick buck. Many of these people prey on the unhappiness and insecurities of others and find ways to get them to cough up money. Go ahead and believe in astrology if you want, just don’t get taken in.
