Find out what you have been doing wrong. From the temperature of the water to how long you should wash your hair. We solve it all!
1. Using too much product
If you are thinking that the more the product you use the cleaner your hair becomes. It’s a myth. All you need is a coin size amount of the product. This is enough to clean your hair.
- Shampooing more than once
Don’t repeat the process of shampooing the second time. It is a big no-no. This strips the natural oils from the scalp making the scalp dry and rough.
- Hot water shower
Hot water showers may be relaxing and calming, but it makes your hair look dry, frizzy and lifeless.
- Shampoo must lather
Lather is created with the use of excessive chemicals, which will in turn damage your hair. Instead, opt for a sulphate-free shampoo, they will work the same way -excluding lather.
- Applying conditioner on wet hair
If you use your conditioner on dripping wet hair, the solution will dilute and the results will not be visible. Always wring your hair to get rid of excess water before you condition.
- Rinsing off conditioner too early
You need to let the conditioner sit for at least 5-7 minutes before you rinse it. Also, use a wide tooth comb to detangle your hair.
- Scrubbing to hard
Scrubbing will not get rid of excess, but you are sure to lose some hair. Wet hair is weak and breaks easily. So, next time don’t be harsh to your scalp.
- Shampooing wrong
You don’t have to shampoo your entire hair. Shampooing is just to clean your scalp and remove the dirt and grim. You don’t have to apply shampoo on the ends of your hair, that will automatically get cleaned once you wash your hair.
- Conditioning wrong
Conditioning is only meant for your strands and not your scalp. So, use a conditioner from the nape to the tip of your hair.
- Finishing hair wash
Once you have done with the process of washing your hair turn off the hot water and rinse your hair with cold water. This will seal the cuticles and reduce hair frizz.
