If you are one of those people who assiduously followed Rose Day, Propose Day and then had some grand gesture to make on Valentine's Day, this post is not for you. This is for all the singles out there who footloose and fancy-free – who would rather celebrate singles awareness day rather than something as schmaltzy as V Day.
It can be irritating to be single, while simply everyone else wants to show off their shiny, happy, lovely relationship.
They were going to be alone on 14th February – worse they were going to have to explain this to couples expressing sympathy and/or curiosity.
Perhaps it was a love than died. Perhaps it was love that was never birthed. Perhaps this is just a face incapable of happiness.

Remember we all die alone suggests this tweet as an antidote to feeling awful about being alone. While that is true, I am not sure that that is much consolation for the single person feeling alone and left out on Valentine’s Day.
