Most Indians have problems such as poor governance and law enforcement, sanitation, bad roads, power outages, pollution, corruption and non-delivery of state services, etc. We have our basic roti-kapda-makaan sort of problems that make each day a struggle. Even the more fortunate among us still have our bijli-paani-sadak problems. All this is taken for granted in the so-called Frist World countries and their so-called problems are very different from ours.
There is more than enough to eat and hygiene is a given. So their problems are a little different than those of lots of Indians who cannot afford neither a full belly nor proper dental hygiene.
A salad with too much dressing wouldn’t be considered a problem in most places.
Usually, first world problems are the problems of plenty, not the problems of scarcity; not basic roti-kapda-makaan type problems.
Striving to go on with life in the face of crushing odds! Don’t laugh – papercuts are painful and this is heroic!
They have access to a pool own a pool. Those are some expensive problems – we don’t have those... even those of us with advanced bijli-paani-sadak problems.
…Interferes with leisure. This is a problem millions of Indians are looking to have.
Things have to be just right – because if they are not, that is a problem. After all nuance is important.
First world pets have problems such as these – certainly not the problems of having a ‘dog’s life’.

Except that they are not actual kids. And it’s not an illness. So in short, first world problems are those that most Indians wish they had.
