Fancy an American Tomahawk challenge? The mega steaks here are scrumptious enough to whet any steak lover’s appetite and send it soaring. The beef serving is humungous, a 1.25 kg cut of American prime beef served with a super generous serving of mashed potato and a variety of delicious sauces to tease the palate. And if you are still craving for more, try their warm loaves of freshly baked bread as an accompaniment. The steak here is full of flavour and cooked to near perfection. You can literally see the juices oozing out of the meat as you devour every bite.
If you ever want a blueprint of how a steakhouse should be run, head to The Rib Room for jaw dropping steak cooking techniques. The décor here is anything but reeking of minimalism, but the friendly staff will lay all your concerns to rest as they rush about like mother hens catering to your every whim. Being Time Out Dubai’s award winning restaurant, the place boasts of 15 different cuts and varieties of meats that would put most other steakhouses to absolute shame. The steaks in themselves are so wonderful that we recommend keeping your extras simple like baked potatoes with salsa or mayo. Don’t forget to drizzle your steak with herbaceous butter.
Don’t be too put off by the prudish décor that reminds you of clubhouses of the yesteryears. The chairs are green, overstuffed and abysmally simple. The walls have plain black and white pictures that are very unimpressive, but it’s the food and the willing, courteous staff that does justice to the restaurant. This steak eatery is one of the oldest in town and the head chef; Chef Iqbal does ample justice to his culinary talent. It is said that the steaks here cut like butter and are superbly melt in the mouth. The cost is just Dhs 150 per steak and the cuts are from Japan, Ireland and New Zealand.
Unlike Marriot’s counterpart, the décor of Rhodes is surprisingly refreshing with muted tones of lilac that are understated yet sophisticated. Before you venture onto the steak, try their famed starters like the crab and the potato which come in small servings so that your appetite for the steak does not get supressed. The food here is pretty straightforward and tasty with no fancy chinaware or the excessive use of condiments. Most of the steaks are American or way cut and have a pleasant, distinctive taste. The décor adds a touch of romance and drama to the simplicity of the menu.
A steak with loads of entertainment is what you will get at Nusr-Et. Try the Lokum steak and the Spaghetti steak, which are their speciality and absolutely melt in the mouth variety. The head chef’s unique cooking style also garnered him a fabulous reputation on the internet. The price tag is pretty hefty at Dhs 300 per steak but the portions are huge and definitely worth every morsel you bite into.
A place where you can rest your tired back in the plush arm chairs as you enjoy the lovely whiff and aromas of the steaks. The walnut finishing and glossy flooring are reminiscent of Broadway in New York. The décor is conservative, so that the diners focus is usually on the food with its myriad flavours and textures. Choose from the assorted selection of fish, chicken and juicy steaks. The Omani lobster and the tenderloin steak are chef’s specials. Pair them with the pungent wasabi mustard and the red beetroot mustard and you have an award winning combination. Rather than the usual order of mashed potatoes, pair your steak with baked sweet potato, small chunks of feta, anchovies and olives for a tastier alternative.
