Even Bomb Blasts Can't Kill These Species, We Say Good Going In Our Times

Bomb blasts, suicide attackers, terror fights.... the world has become a nasty place to live in. However, these species are the lucky lot. They have the inbuilt stamina to survive any kind of blast and are blessed with solid radio resistance. No doubt, they last long. Let's meet them.

Thermococcus gammatolerans

Thermococcus gammatolerans has the ability to withstand up to 30,000 (Gy) in a short amount of time. They are considered to be in the class of archaea extremophiles who carry a resistance to survive extreme temperature. Thermococcus gammatolerans thrive and the naturally harsh environments bless them with a rare stamina. They can almost survive all kinds of super weapon we might throw at them.

Deinococcus radioduran

Deinococcus radioduran is a bacterium and a microorganism who can survive extreme cold, acid, a vacuum and dehydrated condition. Deinococcus radiodurans is listed as the world's toughest bacterium in The Guinness Book of World Records and is nicknamed Conan the Bacterium. It is said that Deinococcus radiodurans are one among bacteria who survived the Hiroshima blasts at 1000 feet.

Milnesium tardigradum (water bears)

According to the experiment conducted, Milnesium tardigradum (water bears) can survive up to 5,700 (Gy) and remain unaffected. It is said that these water bears can survive without a vacuum for up to 2000 years. Other than this, their specially designed body helps them to survive without water and heat for a long period of time. At 5,000 (Gy), water bears could survive the radiation of 1,250 Hiroshima blasts at 1000 feet.

Braconidae (Wasps)

Coming from the family of ancient parasitic wasps Braconidae (Wasps) can not only survive a bomb blast, but they can also survive in extremely low temperature, without food and water. At 1,800 (Gy), the Braconidae could survive the radiation of 450 Hiroshima blasts at 1000 feet. Wasps are blessed with a good immune system and tradition ability which makes them strong to stay in any harsh environment.

Amoeba

The amoeba is known to be a unicellular organism which does not have any shape. When Amoeba is exposed to an environment, it has the capacity to become a ball and develop a  protective membrane to become a microbial cyst. Surviving the toughest condition, the amoeba can withstand up to 1,000 (Gy). They might also be able to reproduce through binary fission or asexually.

Cockroaches

After Hiroshima and Nagasaki bomb blast, it was said that cockroaches were the only survivors left in the toxic city. Because many people lost their eye sights, it was confirmed that cockroaches could see and survive normally. Cockroaches have slower cell cycles which boost the ability of these creatures to withstand any kind of extreme condition.

Why can these animals survive a bomb blast?

Animals that have slower cell cycles usually have resistant to a high level of radiation that can result in a death of cells and also the DNA deteriorates. These radio-resistant creatures have a larger window of time to escape the fallout, particularly slow cell cycles. Gray, with the symbol of (Gy), is a unit of measurement used to describe the absorption of radiation energy per 1 kilogram of matter.
