Did you see that advertisement some years back about a couple trapped underwater in a car when she saves their lives by using her diamond ring to cut the glass window of the car? Well this may or may not work in real life and the size and shape of the diamond would matter a lot as well. But that is not to say that there aren’t any other uses for diamonds than just making jewellery. In fact, there can be some very unusual uses for usual stuff:
Sure it will keep that roti fresh and edible for school/office, but it will also sharpen those difficult to sharpen scissors. Take several layers of foil and cut away! Your scissors are sharpened instantly!
In the unfortunate event of you being trapped in your car with no way to get out, you can detach the head rest from your car seat. See those long, sharp prongs? They can do serious damage to your car windshield or windows if your doors won’t open. In a pinch it can be a weapon or tool for other uses – so don’t remove those head rests; they could save you from more than just whiplash on impact.
Do you throw away your egg trays? Don’t, not only can you make fun stuff for kids’ craft you can use it to store onions and potatoes so they don’t get soggy, use them to store little knick knacks or nails and other tools. You can also use them to get a coal fire going. And it is also a great way to cool down your laptop!
You probably know that other than rub it on your back, forehead, chest or blocked nose, you can simply dissolve a little into boiled water to make your steam inhalation more effective. In a pinch it can work as mosquito repellant. Surprisingly the smell of Vicks can help potty train your pet and prevent it from peeing inside the home. Vicks can also soothe minor scratches and help heal nail fungus and cracked heels.
Other than brushing your teeth, toothpaste is good for lots more: a small dab will help soothe a pimple and prevent it from growing. You can use toothpaste and an old toothbrush to clean your gold jewellery and have it shining like new again. Toothpaste is great for getting rid of hand odour and gunk that sometimes hide under fingernails. Surprisingly, toothpaste will also help remove scratches from CDs.
