Twitter is a place for opining, holding forth on various issues, a place to get abused and trolled as well. Apparently it is also a place to meet people. So much so that #WeMetOnTwitter was trending. Some met their soul mates on the micro blogging platform, some their best friends and some… well they’re still single.
Some people met thanks to Twitter and other social media platforms.
Many posted happy-ever-after images such as these in response to the trend.
This couple seems to have gotten engaged now, after meeting on Twitter.
This tweet seems to suggest that this couple met each other because of a common love for tea.
There has been such an outpouring of grief following the death of Sushant Singh Rajput that some connected over this.
Some said that they met their best friend on Twitter.
…Were merely watching the trend.
…Had nothing to do with it.
Presumably some people got to know their inner selves better on Twitter?
Others, not so much. For them it’s more of solitary splendour.
They were sad that the object of their affection was unable to recognise their worth.

If everyone is going to meet on Twitter, what use are all these dating apps?
No use for apps such as Tinder.
The trending hashtag made them sad about being single.
They were disgusted at all the schmaltzy showing off, presumably.
Some just don’t know how it’s done. One connects on a public post and then ‘slides into DMs’. That’s the way it’s done!
Some were happily talking about how #WeMetOnTwitter, some were feeling jealous and/or sad and/or lonely and some couldn’t care less.
