The North and West of India have been reeling under the onslaught of a fierce and merciless heatwave. The Amul topical also spoke about the fierce and unrelenting sun. At such a time, people tweeting images of dark skies and driving rain with the #BangaloreRains hashtag was almost too much to bear. And then finally on 4 May, the wind started to howl and the lowering skies opened up to shower their benediction upon us.
Bangalore has great weather around the year in any case. And then whenever it gets mildly hot, it starts to rain. It was the same a few days ago, and the city even had hail. This just seems unfair.
Bangalore people have to come to Delhi and parts of Rajasthan to experience an actual heatwave.
This WhatsApp forward was making the rounds: with the name of different cities inserted in the place between earth and the sun.
The fierce sun will to this – is it any wonder that our colour-conscious people will try and stay indoors as much as possible?
This guy was clearly trying to make us all feel jealous.
It is hot as Hades in Delhi and other northern states. As Amul asks, (with a hat tip to the famous ‘itna sannata’ line from Sholay) why is it so sunny?
#DelhiRains
A break in the heat, the cool breeze and the drops of joy – suddenly the whole world seems kinder, happier.
Simply everyone! My doggie spent all evening and most of the night on the balcony too.
The birds, the stray animals, everyone enjoys the rain and the respite from the heat.
Including bad moods and minor irritations.
Literally!
They don’t matter.
Delhi enjoyed some cooling showers so the tweeple were out in force tweeting about #DelhiRains. Elsewhere, people were less lucky and were still suffering.
