While words praising his incredible performance in India's most-loved cricket icon's biopic, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, is just doing the rounds, Sushant Singh Rajput is all set to work on his new projects. He had already ensured that he would not look back on his journey towards more appreciation, acclaim and fame!
Recently, there were speculations that Sushant Singh Rajput will play Murlikant Petkar, a physically challenged soldier-turned-sportsman, who won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1970 and at the Paralympics in Germany in 1972. But now, it has been confirmed.
Sushant says he got attracted to Murlikant’s story almost immediately. While talking about it, he said “The minute I heard his story, I was on. I wanted to do it without a second thought. What an inspiring story!"
Talking about the characters he loves to play on screen, he said, "After playing Dhoni, I’m looking forward to playing Petkar, who never allowed his physical hurdles to stand in the way of his dreams. I like playing characters who dream big.”
Petkar had made Indians proud in the 1970 Commonwealth Games and the 1972 Paralympics in Germany. Originally a boxer, later he took up even swimming among other sports in his career!
SSR fans should rejoice as he has been working on different projects lately. Lined up next is Dinesh Vijan’s Rabtaa, Homi Adajania’s Takdum, and Chanda Mama Dur Ke on the anvil.
Considering the huge fan following of an incredible person, the Captain Cool MS Dhoni, everyone knew that MS Dhoni's biopic will surely enter 100 crore club with an ease. We hope the same with Petkar's biopic as well! Though, we do not have any confirmation about the release of the movie, we can only hope it to happen soon!
