Some people would look at those sky-high, pointy toed shoes and go ‘ouch’, while on the other hand some would swoon with desire. Whichever your reaction, you are likely to be interested in this pair of shoes; fabled to be the most expensive pair of shoes in the world. Here is what we know about the pair unveiled in Dubai recently:
This is the pair of shoes that bears the incredible price tag of 62.4 million dirhams (which is USD 17 million ). The image is that of a prototype (size 36 EU), the actual shoes are yet to be made.
Hemant Karamchandani, the CEO of Passion Jeweller feels that Dubai; a city of billionaires and millionaires is the right market for something as exclusive and expensive as this pair of shoes. His brand has collaborated with UAE designer Jada Dubai to create the shoes. The unveiling of the shoes took place at the 7-star hotel, Burj Al Arab.
The shoes feature hundreds of diamonds, including two 15 carat solitaire diamonds at the centre. The shoes also feature real gold and leather. Once there is an actual buyer for the shoe, they will be required to pay the full retail price for the shoe; after which the shoes will be custom made for them, in the size that they want. There will be only one pair of these ‘Passion Diamond Shoes’ in the world.
Debbie Wingham a British designer was previously credited with designing the world’s most expensive shoes. They were made to order; one-of-a-kind stilletos ordered by an unnamed family. Those shoes also featured rare diamonds, gold painted leather and gold thread.
To understand exactly how expensive these shoes will be, consider the fact that they are more expensive than this mansion. The celebrity mansion in the picture is said to cost about $12 million and these shoes will cost a great deal more!
Some people thought that the outrageous price ought to come with a bunch of freebies. Others thought that instead of wearing those diamonds on the feet, the right thing to do would be to take the diamonds and set them in a necklace or rings.
This gif image of men shoveling money into a furnace speaks for itself. Others thought that shoes such as these are quite simply ‘obscene’.
