Check Out this Car Disappearing Into A Sinkhole In Mumbai & What Happened Next

Sinkholes can swallow up trucks, even houses. The visuals are always dramatic and deeply horrifying. After the setting in of Mumbai’s monsoon, a sinkhole appeared below a parked car and appeared to swallow it whole. Luckily no one was injured. Watch as the car tips into a hole and disappears. Also, check out the memes and what happened later; how the car was pulled out:

This viral video

The car can be seen tipping into a pool of water and is then swallowed entirely by water.

Scary but fascinating

The video tweeted here went viral. Turns out the car was parked on top of an area that used to be a well that was inadequately covered by concrete. Heavy rains and land subsidence resulted in this.

Luckily no one was injured

People pointed out that the brake lights were on, wondering if that meant that there was someone inside. Thankfully no one was injured.

A freaky occurrence

Dr. Kiran Doshi, owner of the car that was swallowed by that sinkhole said that he couldn’t have imagined something like this even in his dreams.

And the memes started

Because anything becomes a meme these days.

Meanwhile

Poor Dr. Doshi may have been thinking this.

Parle G

Parle G is the biscuit all of India loves to dunk into their tea. Many were reminded of this.

Underworld?

Certainly looks like a hellhole.

‘Sinking’ fortunes

Some students thought there was a similarity in the trajectory of their grades as well.

The political meme

That certainly represents the ‘sinking’ fortunes of India’s biggest opposition party rather well.

The car was pulled out

The car can be seen at the bottom of a deep circular shaft and there is equipment all around that is poised to pull it out.

Out it comes

A crane was used to pull the car out.

Lesson learned?

After watching the car disappear into that sinkhole, people in Mumbai may be a little warier about where they park. For reasons other than a possible traffic fine, that is.
