A Central Park-style botanical garden will be built in Dubai, covering 200,000 sq m of a massive 1.1m sq ft development called Cityland Mall. Isn't that exciting news? Set on the historic Dubai Creek, Dubai Festival City Mall has been undergoing a gradual transformation. The shopping centre, which is popular with many residents since it is already home to the likes of Ikea and Hard Rock Café, is being expanded, and once finished, will house 400 retailers and 75 restaurants. Its developer, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate, is pumping Dhs1.2 billion into the mall’s redevelopment, which is due to complete later this year.
