Dinosaur at a Kids Party? Maybe This Wasn’t Such a Good Idea

You know how some things are supposed to be for the entertainment and enjoyment of kids – but aren't? Kids are supposed to love balloons but some are terrified of them because they make a scary sound when they burst. Some kids will start crying at the sight of some guy in a red suit and a Santa mask. As for clowns – heck even adults will get scared with all the thriller/horror films that feature jokers/clowns. So a dinosaur at a kids' party seems counterintuitive – doesn’t it?

Dino at a kids’ party

And not just any dino – that very scary T-Rex looking guy with the big teeth and the very scary open mouth.

Not as planned?

Maybe they had something completely different in mind when someone said ‘dinosaur costume’; something altogether more benign and friendly-looking.

Or bad party planning?

So either that was a very dumb parent or just a parent that enjoys the sound of terrified screams – in other words with a broad streak of sadism.

Maybe this is the story?

The dad just did what some guys do to get out of doing chores: do a bad job deliberately.

Accidentally scary?

Doesn’t seem like it. This dino is actually trying to scare kids –chasing this clearly terrified little girl.

Pure evil!

Putting that ugly big head into that bounce house is evil – but it is funny too.

Yes funny

Too many people found it hilarious that those poor little kids had had the bejesus scared out of them.

Trauma for life?

Possibly. I have some scary memories of my childhood – no Dino, but definitely a scary Santa.

Been there done that

Apparently this wasn’t the first parent to have had the stupid idea of inviting a terrifying extinct beast to a children’s birthday party.

Or this

A comic villain at a superhero-themed party doesn’t sound so bad.

Until

...This guy turns up

When story-time goes wrong

Kids love Barney – a purple something or the other. But this purple panda is positively fiendish looking! What were the adults thinking!

Recreational cruelty

Every girl with an older brother will understand such torment because she has experienced it: recreational cruelty is a most certainly a thing.

Pick a herbivore

Nope. I doubt that would do any better – those creatures are still hideous. I doubt children would stop to have a cerebral conversation about the eating habits of giant extinct reptiles while they are running about shrieking their heads off.

The Dino kids love

There are lovable purple kids’ dinos and then there are realistic dinos. Maybe they were planning this and got that scary dino at the kids party instead?
